Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is a fun social event for Rotarians and their partners to get to know each other better and "build goodwill and better friendships".  It's a mystery dinner date where the hosts and guests are unknown to each other until the front door opens.

 

In each round of the event, a Rotarian agrees to host at their house or a restaurant of their choosing four to six guests in total, they being Rotarians and their partners, if any.  The catch is, the hosts aren't told who is coming.  Likewise the  guests aren't told until right before the event begins what address they're being sent to!  Each round, we change up who is hosting and shuffle the guest list so there ends up being a good variety of combinations.  For each time you host, you should end up being a guest twice.

 

If you're interested in participating, please sign up here.  Depending on interest, we'll figure out how many hosts we need in each round, who'll they'll be, and then set up our first date for sometime in April.

RYPEN will be held this year from Thursday, May 8, 2024 until Sunday, May 11, 2024 at Teen Time Ranch, just north of Westlock.

 

RYLE (Rotary Youth Leadership Experience) is an annual conference hosted by the RYLE Committee and sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of District 5370. This four day experience is intended for high school students (grades 9 to 12) or home school students ages 13.5-18 who would like to gain or strengthen their leadership skills and learn how to be active citizens who strive to make a positive impact in the world.

RYLE will be held this year from Thursday, May 1, 2025 until Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Camp Nakamun.

The Rotary Club of Spruce Grove is providing full sponsorship for youth from our area to attend RYLE. Applications for sponsorship must be completed by April 11, 2025

 

 

 

Our Community Pantry is a project of the Spruce Grove Rotary Club, but it's positive impact on the children of Stony Plain and Parkland County draws ongoing support from the Stony Plain and Parkland After Dark Rotary clubs.

 

At the Our Community Pantry Christmas volunteer lunch,  support from the Rotary Club of Stony Plain came in the form of a $41,000 donation, which were dollars raised thru a single fundraising auction.....Amazing!

 

 

 

 

Too many children in our community attend school hungry, often arriving without having breakfast and without a lunch. When children are hungry they struggle to learn, and their overall health is compromised. Providing lunches to children at school supports our belief that education and good health are essential for children to reach their full potential.  In partnership with Parkland School Division (PSD), our 100% volunteer powered team, prepares and delivers nutritionally balanced lunches weekly to 22 schools. 

 

 

Spruce Grove Rotarians' celebrated the Christmas season with good food, fellowship, and our annual Silly Santa Auction. 

Held at RavenWolf Brewery, this year's Silly Santa event offered plenty of unique auction items and a crowd willing to pay top dollar to find out what was under the wrapping! With the $2112.50 raised, the Spruce Grove Rotary club purchased Christmas gifts for the 49 mothers at Wings of Providence Second Stage Shelter and donated $910.00 to Hope Beverly House, the Tri-Region's Women's Shelter.

 

On October 8th, the Spruce Grove Rotary Club unveiled four Rotary Peace Poles.

Recognized as a prominent international symbol and monument to peace, there are 250,000 Peace Poles worldwide.  On each pole "May Peace Prevail on Earth" is written in multiple languages.
