The Rotary Club of Spruce Grove had the privilege of hosting Her Honour, The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta at our November 7th, 2024 special meeting and luncheon in support of children focused service projects.
Her Honour's speech told us about her journey to Canada and her pride in being Canadian, and ended with a compelling message about the importance of education. She stated that after meeting students from all corners of our province, she believes there’s no need to worry about our future, “We are in good hands” Her Honour left a positive, lasting impression on everyone in attendance. To quote one attendee, "Her Honour is very kind and humble".
After lunch, guest speakers from You Can Ride 2, the Spruce Grove Public library, and Parkland School Division on behalf of Our Community Pantry shared their organizations' story and how Rotary has contributed to their success.
