Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Stony Plain, the Memorial Composite High School (MCHS) Rotary Interact Club brings young people together to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Three members of the club were invited to attend the Luncheon with the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta and provide table service for Her Honour. After the event, each student was asked to reflect on their experience.
“I’m thankful for the Rotary club of our school for giving us this opportunity, and it was very interesting to see everyone. I didn’t realize how important the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta was, and I was quite nervous when I found out however she was extremely nice and humble, talking to her for only a few moments definitely calmed all of our nerves.” - Vienna
“I had a wonderful time at the luncheon with the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. It was such an amazing day and truly a once in a lifetime experience. Her Honour is very kind and humble, it was wonderful meeting her! Thank you very much for this opportunity, I would do it again in a heartbeat.” - Tereza
“It was a pleasure taking part in a meeting where we met, and spent time with wonderful people, especially the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. Serving and having a chance to speak with the Lieutenant Governor, Salma Lakhani was an honour and pleasure to me. I feel very fortunate and lucky to have the opportunity with her and the many other people at the Luncheon.” - Cagla
