Just a recap of Tony Zeglen's last email about the Honorary Membership Policy, so if you haven't seen the email, here is the information. Please come October 25th so that you can be part of the discussion.
In consultation with Tammy, this is the motion that I will speak to at our meeting on October 25th.
Move to appeal the board decision on the Honorary Membership Policy [policy attached] of September 22, 2016.
IF two-thirds of the members present support the motion, we will have a "straw poll" on the following elements of a to-be-drafted policy:
- That we limit all Honorary Memberships to one calendar year.
- That we offer all current Honorary Members a fast-track to regular membership, i.e. exemption from the current process, and that this offer expires in 30 days of the appropriate notification.
- That we offer all future Honorary Members a fast-track to regular membership, i.e. exemption from the current process, and that this offer expires in 30 days of the end of their Honorary Membership.
- That we offer an Honorary Membership to winners of our annual Integrity Award from 2019 forward.
We will then discuss any other ideas for a new policy that members may have.
