Rotary RAP, July 4, 2017
Welcome to the new Rotary Year, 2017-18, Making a Difference!!

Upcoming meeting info.

1.  July 6th   President,  Christian Findt, Perspectives for 2017-18.

2.  July 13th  Tegan Wendel, representing Compete to Contribute.  Compete to Contribute is a group of regional businessmen with the intent to promote community activity and contribution.  Tegan is the event organizer.  They have initiated their second, Compete to Contribute project promoting the idea of local youth groups or clubs competing as a group to volunteer in the region and make a contribution.  It is similar to our project this past year, the Champions of Good.  We focused on the recognition of individual youth who volunteered in our community while Compete to Contribute focuses on groups doing the same thing.  Check out their website, www.competetocontribute.com.

Related to these projects, that focus on youth who volunteer in our community, is another initiative led by some local youth who are planning on a workshop in November aimed at youth between the approximate ages of 17 - 30.  They want to create some conversation, energy and action around youth being involved with the community.  This project is an offshoot of the Change Summit which occurred last year in our region.  I met one of the founders of this new group, Neil Schmitke, at our Champions of Good event and had a meeting with him recently.  Check out their website, www.beyondsummit.ca.

3.  July 20th  President Christian Findt reporting on the recent International Rotary Convention.
