Interesting...contribution from Randy Heatherington from Portland and the Rotary Club he attends there.

Rotary Rap…Connection PDX!

What do Rotarian's in Portland focus on…well here are just a few of the current projects from the Rotary Club of Portland, one of 5 in the area:

Homeless Education Committee – The homeless situation in Portland is growing and the Rotary Club of Portland has struck an education committee to oversee projects. Simply getting an accurate count is step one and Rotarian's are helping with that.

Domestic Violence: Domestic Violence Pledge & Information Kit – Again Rotarian's are looking to both inform their members (via the kit) but also commit as members to finding solutions through personal action (pledge).

Youth Exchange in Thailand – This club sponsors 3 inbound and 3 outbound students each year and receives regular updates from past inbound's about their lives back home.

International Women’s Day: 30 years in rotary – One local event is currently planned to bring together Rotarian's to celebrate International Women’s Day and 30 years of Women in Rotary at a local watering hole.

In reading our RAP and emails from the Club I know Spruce Grove is remaining active in so many key initiatives including You Can Ride 2, Aboriginal Youth and maintaining relations with our international friends from Brazil. Kudos to my club!

There is a new creed south of the border. When the facts don’t support you…there are always alternate facts that will. May the sights and sounds of spring come to you all soon (did I mention the rhododendrons are in bloom)!

Cheers,

Randy in PDX
