February 28th - Club Assembly March 7th - Meena Deccan: How to Reduce Honour Based Violence - The Paristi Project. Meena Deccan is a lawyer and social activist (and a Saskatchewan Riders Fan....we will have to overlook that minor flaw). She incorporated the Paristi Project while in graduate school to obtain her Masters in Law degree. Meena's objective is to provide information to reduce honour based violence through public education. Invite those friends and colleagues who work in public education, social work, healthcare who may be able to learn about the signs and save a life. March 14th - Natasha Rychlik: My Path Program - an alternative choice for students in the region. atasha Rychilk is the founder and Executive Director of the My Path Learning Society. This program is currently in its first year and is a home-schooling based blended alternative program. Students attend half days at the Stony Creek School with Parkland School Division to learn core subjects and then spend their afternoons learning through various activities like dance, theatre, martial arts, community service etc. March 21st - Brett Esslinger: Engage Bus. Seeing a need for transporation to and from our local food back, Brett Esslinger and his team of amazing community-minded citizens bought a bus and got to work. He will share with us his journey in getting this project off the ground. The inspirational story of the power of a small group of citizens with a common goal. |
