Rotary RAP, Nov. 28, 2016
Last Thursday at our regular meeting I had the feeling of...WOW...

During the meeting there was made mention of:

1.  Members contribution, by growing a mustache or contributing $$ to the project...Movember...Men's Health.  In addition to those with serious mustache's there may have been 1 or 2 trying...to grow a mustache!!

2.  A discussion of the Kinette Christmas Hampers and how we would contribute this year.  Several alternatives were discussed with the result the club deciding to make a contribution of $500.00 from Club Funds directly and in addition the folks organizing would collect any additional cash contributions individual members wanted to make at this week's meeting.  For the most part the idea was to donate cash so the Kinette's had cash to figure out how best to create great hampers.

3.   The speakers last Thursday were the Wayne and Wayne Show reminding us of the Uniqueness and Benefits of the Rotary Foundation.  Quit a vision for 1917...

The Readers Digest version is...

   a.  Anyone who sets up recurring contributions (monthly, semi-annually, annually) using this process will receive 3 for 1 credit to their next Paul Harris Fellowship for donations from now until the end of
2017.  This link should allow you to do this.  http://bit.ly/sg-trf-direct

   b. Members who are already making regular contributions with TRF-Direct and increase their giving by $20 CAD or more every month will receive 3 for 1 credit on the amount of the increase.  Those   members need to email the Foundation at contact.center@rotary.org to request a change to their contribution amount.  By simply providing their name and indicating they are a member of the Rotary Club of Spruce Grove, they will be able to initiate the request to make the change.

4.  Arlaine Monaghan provided a short update of the recent committee meeting, Connecting with our Aboriginal Neighbors.  Lots going on as well as a reminder of the RCMP Regimental Ball on March 18th, 2017. Proceeds to go to First Nations Youth programs.

5.   And...after the meeting members were gathering around working at wrapping the housecoats purchased to support the women in the Wings of Providence Women's Shelter with the $1 620.00 raised by members from the Silly Santa Auction

That's the feeling I had...well it is Christmas...WOW...Thanks Rotarians...Thanks Rotary!!

And upcoming:

6.  This Thursday we have Kristi Sterling giving her Classification Speech.  I am looking for to that.

7.  Next Thursday's meeting, Dec. 8th, we will have the Annual General Meeting.

8.  As you know and have been reminded...Friday, Dec. 16th is our Christmas family Party.  Please make every effort to attend let Krista Mastaler know.  Extended family members welcome.

Well...that's it for this week.  Lot's to be grateful for.
