From Hugh Lecky, President Rotary Club of Jasper:

If you purchase tickets by December 24th, you even get a chance to win a great prize:  a two-night stay at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

If you would like tickets and accommodation at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge please phone 1-800-465-7547.  Tickets only can be purchased on line here.

This year we are also celebrating 50 years of winter experiences at Marmot Basin and Ski Marmot is enticing us all to come join them by giving out a free lift ticket with every Masquerade Ball ticket purchased.  If you don’t ski, you'll have a great stocking stuffer for someone who does!!

Here’s why supporting this event is important.  When you’re knee deep in new snow, flying down Paradise, it is easy to reflect on how great we have it in Jasper.  But living in paradise is a luxury that is not shared by many in our world.  Just living to survive is difficult for far too many.  This is where Rotary comes in.  We believe every person deserves a chance to live a healthy, productive life, and we work to make that happen, in our own communities and elsewhere.  By supporting this event, you are supporting Rotary.  You are helping to elevate living standards within your community, and around the world.

Marmot Basin has also had a lasting impact on our community.  Early visionaries helped grow the resort while strengthening the ties to the community, thus helping Jasper become a year-round world-class destination.  Take a trip with us down memory lane at the Charity Masquerade Ball where we will salute Marmot Basin’s 50 years.

100% of the funds our club raises at this event will be for our projects – international, community and youth.  None of the funds you give to our Club are used for administration or for travel expenses.  Rotarians are giving people and we value the importance of being self-sufficient, while ensuring the funds we raise are used in credible and ethical ways.

Locally, we’ve helped stock the shelves for the Food Bank, lent a hand with Santa’s Anonymous, served community dinners and Christmas lunches to seniors, donated dictionaries to elementary students, got our hands dirty brushing trails and building playgrounds, supported the arts, and provided major funds to help build our Municipal Library.  We sponsor swimming programs for elementary students, leadership camps for secondary students, music for seniors, and we've responded to others in crisis.  Globally, we’ve provided disaster relief, supported literacy, prevented disease, assisted with maternal and child health, strengthened communities – always while promoting peace.  Rotary is all about doing good in the world.

Please support our cause by attending the Charity Masquerade Ball.  Experience the fun.  Laugh and dance with your friends.  Share a few ski stories, bid on silent auction items, and enjoy the intrigue that comes when a roomful of people disguise themselves with festive masks, adorn formal attire,  and come together for a worthwhile cause. Enjoy paradise while feeling good about changing lives.

Please join us on March 8th, 2014 for the Rotary Charity Masquerade Ball.
